Survived the tsunami (& three cats)

I got the glower
Nephew Bill launched himself onto my lap
I wanted to read - St Augustine, Thomas Aquinas with a side salad of mediaeval philosophers - but I got the glower. Bill was warm and he was purring his fluffy head off – he reckoned if I shuddup and kept still we’d both hear the hum of the planet. I could hear the clock tickin past my meal time. Mental note, when Jen gets home, heave myself into her lap and stare, with great unwaveringosity into her eyes. Have signed up to a night-school purring class.

It’s all right for you Jen flitting about them rock castles built by little green men and all past their use by date.

Later that night, after some fine folk music at the Atomic Café, catching up with old mates, I collapse in bed. Resolution 2. On Her return chuck four bags of flour, purring flour, onto Jen so she cannot turn, cannot breathe, so that she is transfixed in her cot.

Bill had a wonderful night thank you.
Andy had a night off, a night of peace, oh there was a cheery call to see if the little bludger had been fed.

No this is not a cat lover’s blog.

6.00am, Bill whimpering because he has not been fed for a week. Stuff katnuts down Bill, depart, drive, arrive in Thames, rubbydunkin going on. Rain. Minnie ankle taps the poor blighter.

This week in Thames: Tsunami warning. I cancel petanque, don’t want my 80 odd year old Avis washed up a tree. No tsunami. Petanque buddies whistle and jeer. Snow on Mt Te Aroha. Txt family in Auckland. Nobody believes me. TV news, snow on Mt Te Aroha.

Mental note, prepare camera for volcanic eruption, maybe a meteorite strike – oh buses on strike in Auckland, trains overloaded.
Bye, dodes
