addendum: My parents knew some one who fought in the war in El Alemein - he was a commissioned officer -brigadier I think - but he gave my brother Bill his pack of dried foods and things that they carried with them. Bill kept it in a box in his room with a stern note attached: Keep Out everyone - this means YOU Hilary! Of course I had gone in - but having read the note, I made a hasty retreat. Love
